Does anyone have any information on cutting back sodium?
I have a family history of high blood pressure, and when I was pregnant with my son started having toxemia towards the end. I am really wanting to cut back tremendously on my sodium intake and was just wondering. Does it do less harm if like with my french fries if I leave the ketchup off, and put some salt on my fries does that make it healthier? Like if I leave certain salty things off of my food but add salt.

Most people get too much salt in their diet without adding extra salt to their food so try to skip adding salt on your food if you can….even when cooking try to skip cooking with salt. Try the Ms.Dash products….they are very good and don’t have the sodium like other seasoning products. You also want to avoid just about all frozen foods because they are loaded with sodium (that is what is used to preserve them). And when you go shopping try to look for items that are low in sodium or the lower sodium brand of food….
